A Brief Biography.
I am 73 years of age, a native
of West Sussex.
An engineer, I was apprenticed to the English branch of a failed
American agricultural engineering company, Walter A. Wood & Co Ltd, formerly
of Hoosick Falls in New York State.
Like all my generation I was called up
for National Service in the Army, serving first with the Corps of Signals and
then most of my time with the Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers.
Soon
after Demob, I was injured in an industrial accident which left me with a permanently
disabled right arm and hand.
My last job before retirement was with the
Southern Water Authority in charge of maintenance.
We retired to Norfolk in
1987, dealt in antiques for a while, then in 1992 found St.Mary's.
Brought
up in the Anglican Faith I was delighted to have the opportunity to restore a
Church.
Besides this work I have been a Churchwarden and bell ringer for some
years.
I have a feeling this was meant to be, St.Mary's is now my life.
